PORTALBERITA.CO.ID - PT Wuling Motors Indonesia has officially signaled its readiness to introduce a brand-new Battery Electric Vehicle (BEV) to the Indonesian automotive landscape in the very near future. This upcoming model represents the next iteration in the globally recognized Wuling Mini EV series.
The confirmation regarding the launch of this new, compact, four-door electric vehicle was explicitly delivered by the company's executive management team. This announcement took place during a company event held in Liuzhou, Guangxi, China, on Wednesday, July 1, 2026.
The arrival of this fifth-generation vehicle is strategically important as it will serve to complement Wuling's current offerings within the local electric vehicle segment, notably alongside the existing Air ev model. This move aims to diversify consumer options in the compact EV market.
According to Detik Oto, the specifications observed on a sample vehicle from this pure electric Hongguang series highlight its diminutive yet functional dimensions. The vehicle measures 3,268 mm in length, 1,520 mm in width, and stands 1,575 mm high.
Further details gleaned from the vehicle’s window sticker indicate that the power source for this compact machine will utilize a lithium iron phosphate (LFP) type battery. This suggests a focus on durable and cost-effective energy storage for the new model.
The physical footprint of the vehicle confirms its status as a highly maneuverable city car, featuring a wheelbase measuring 2,190 mm. These dimensions are optimized for navigating congested urban environments effectively.
"The certainty of the launch of this compact four-door model was directly communicated by the Wuling management team," noted an observer present at the briefing held in Liuzhou, China. This statement underscores the commitment to expanding the EV line-up.
The introduction of this new generation follows the success of Wuling’s initial foray into the Indonesian EV space, positioning the brand to capture a broader segment of environmentally conscious and urban commuters.
As reported by Detik Oto, the core technical details, including battery chemistry and exterior dimensions, were made public following the internal review session conducted by the manufacturer. This transparency aids early market anticipation.
