This exclusive media visit took place on Wednesday (1/7/2026) at the company's primary research and testing hub located in Liuzhou, Guangxi, China. The objective was to provide journalists with a firsthand look at Wuling’s cutting-edge capabilities and future manufacturing blueprints.
The tour showcased several state-of-the-art technologies housed within the facility, including the highly advanced Intelligent Island Manufacturing System (I2MS), advanced crash testing centers, and specialized laboratories dedicated to Noise, Vibration, and Harshness (NVH) testing.
The deployment of the I2MS represents a fundamental departure from conventional assembly line methodologies. As reported by BOGORPLUS.ID, this system has been fully operational since November 2025, marking a new era in vehicle production sequencing.
Instead of relying on long, traditional conveyor belts, the I2MS utilizes decentralized workstations known as "work islands." These separate work posts manage distinct assembly stages, optimizing flow and precision within the production environment.
"The production process is now executed through discrete stations known as work islands, replacing the standard, lengthy conveyor systems typical in conventional factories," a representative explained during the tour of the Liuzhou center.
This strategic move toward intelligent manufacturing underscores Wuling’s commitment to embedding smarter, AI-driven processes into its operations, including those planned for its Indonesian plants.
The implementation of I2MS in Indonesia is anticipated to bring unprecedented levels of agility and data-driven quality control to the local automotive assembly process, aligning Indonesian operations with global benchmarks set in Liuzhou.
