PORTALBERITA.CO.ID - US-headquartered financial services powerhouse Stripe has made a strategic leadership move, permanently stationing its Global Product Head in Singapore. This relocation is designed to significantly accelerate the company's growth and market penetration across the dynamic Asia-Pacific region.

The executive tasked with this critical regional oversight is Abhinav Tiwari, who recently finalized his move to the city-state after initially splitting his time between Singapore and Seattle earlier in 2026. This decision underscores Singapore's growing importance as a central operations and engineering center for Stripe, which first established its presence there in September 2016.

The primary motivation behind this physical shift is to foster closer relationships with regional clientele navigating complex operational landscapes. "Proximity helps," explained Abhinav Tiwari, Head of Global Product at Stripe.

Tiwari further elaborated on the benefits of being physically present in the market, noting the difference it makes for product development. "Like being able to call a customer and not be on the West Coast of the US or being able to go see a customer face-to-face and ask them what’s going on so that we can make those changes for our product," said Abhinav Tiwari, Head of Global Product at Stripe.

Mr. Tiwari assumed his current role leading global product development at the start of 2026, and management anticipates this permanent presence will catalyze significant internal growth. The firm expects this move to drive double-digit staff expansions within the Singapore office, although specific hiring figures were not disclosed.

As reported by Businesstimes, Tiwari views this leadership placement as a key indicator of future success in the area. "reflective of growth in the region, but also of what’s to come," said Abhinav Tiwari, Head of Global Product at Stripe.

Stripe currently manages substantial global activity, processing in excess of US$1.9 trillion in annual transaction volumes across its comprehensive platform. The company specializes in offering programmable solutions for multi-currency settlements and cross-border merchant management across Asia.

Looking ahead, Tiwari's product team is focused on immediate regional integrations, including a planned launch with Philippine e-wallet GCash slated for the end of June 2026. Stripe already provides ongoing services to established regional partners such as Luckin Coffee, StarHub, and Minimax.

Beyond facilitating merchant transactions, Stripe is actively seeking collaborations with local regulatory bodies to advance frameworks for digital assets and tokenized bank liabilities. The company is participating in Project Bloom, an initiative spearheaded by the Monetary Authority of Singapore alongside institutions like DBS, testing multi-currency wholesale settlement systems.
