PORTALBERITA.CO.ID - American superstar Lil Nas X publicly disclosed on Wednesday morning that he recently completed several months of intensive rehabilitation following his arrest in Los Angeles last year. This significant personal update was shared directly with fans via a video message posted to his official Instagram account.

The 27-year-old artist, whose legal name is Montero Lamar Hill, detailed his ongoing mental health journey following legal proceedings. This announcement comes two months after Judge Alan Schneider authorized his entry into a specialized mental health diversion program, stemming from an incident involving alleged assaults on police officers.

"He has been in rehab for a few months," stated Lil Nas X, Montero Lamar Hill, confirming the duration of his recent treatment.

The terms of the court-approved legal agreement are strict, requiring the musician to adhere rigorously to his treatment schedule and maintain a clean record for two years. If successful, the four felony counts previously filed against him will be completely dismissed by the court.

This eligibility for the diversion program was granted after authorities determined the altercation with law enforcement officers was directly linked to his recently diagnosed bipolar disorder, marking an atypical behavior for the artist. As reported by The Guardian, the diagnosis provided context for the events that transpired.

"When I got my bipolar disorder diagnosis, I feel like I had known for the past few years, but I didn’t want to admit to it ‘cause I didn’t want to have to take medication and, I don’t know, have people think different of me," said Lil Nas X, Montero Lamar Hill.

Bipolar disorder is characterized by significant mood, energy, concentration, and activity level fluctuations, often cycling between intense manic phases and severe depressive periods. The artist humorously summarized the challenge of managing this condition.

"Living life on extreme hard mode," joked Lil Nas X, Montero Lamar Hill, reflecting on the difficulty of the past year.

The musician reported substantial improvements in his overall health since commencing clinical therapy and splitting time between his residences in Atlanta and Los Angeles. He confirmed that his commitment to treatment has yielded positive results in his daily life.
