PORTALBERITA.CO.ID - The Indonesian automotive scene is buzzing following the official introduction of the Modenas Brusky 125 scooter. This event, which marks a new entry into the domestic automatic scooter segment, has drawn immediate attention from local enthusiasts and industry observers.
PT Astra Honda Motor (AHM) has now issued its official statement regarding the presence of this new competitor in the market. The company maintained a measured response to the launch, which took place formally on Thursday, June 11, 2026.
The Brusky 125 was brought into Indonesia by PT Kawasaki Motor Indonesia (KMI). This move is notable as the scooter exhibits a distinct visual resemblance to the previous generation of the Honda Vario 125 LED model.
This similarity has fueled considerable discussion among national automotive fans concerning potential competition dynamics within this specific scooter category. The segment is already highly competitive, making any new entrant a significant development.
It is important to note that the Modenas Brusky 125 is the inaugural scooter product introduced by Kawasaki in the Indonesian market. This launch does not feature the typical Kawasaki branding prominently displayed on the main bodywork.
As reported by BOGORPLUS.ID, the vehicle is a result of a collaboration between Kawasaki and Modenas, the Malaysian manufacturer. This partnership explains the absence of the prominent Kawasaki logo on the chassis.
Regarding the competitive landscape, AHM offered a relaxed perspective on the situation. "We view every new offering in the market as part of the natural evolution of the automotive industry," a representative stated.
"Our focus remains firmly on delivering the best quality and innovation to our loyal customers," the representative added, emphasizing AHM's commitment to its existing product lines.
This measured reaction suggests that AHM is not overly concerned by the visually similar, rebadged model entering their established market share. The company appears confident in its current standing.
